Welcome to a brief introduction to the Scrolly editor.
To create a scrolly, all you need is a computer and a good internet connection. Your computer should have a larger display from 15 inches (at least 2560 × 1440 pixels). We recommend a large monitor of 21 inches or more to be able to use the software optimally.
We recommend using a Chrome browser (Google) and, of course, a good and stable internet connection.
Browsers from other companies should also work. Please make sure you download the latest software. Then you can get started right away:
After logging in, you will automatically be taken to the dashboard. All your scrollys are managed and listed here.
Unter den Actions kannst Du dir den jeweiligen Scrolly anschauen (Preview) …
Here you can edit the metadata (Edit metadata).
To edit the scrolly, click on Edit.
If you want to copy a scrolly, click on Duplicate Post. You will then have to enter new metadata for this copied scrolly before you can edit it.
If you want to create a new scrolly, click on + Create Scrolly at the top left.
Before you can start creating a scrolly, you must first define and enter the most important metadata.
The tenant is the homepage on which the scrolly is published. URL slug is the later short link of the scrolly. All fields with "required" must be filled in.
The thumbnail is the later teaser image on the homepage or the preview image coming with the publishing link. This image is absolutely necessary in order to publish the scrolly later. The Button to start the scrolly can be replaced by a new image.
thumbnail (3200 x 1800 pixels/16:9/Width at least 1600 px. Allowed image formats: PNG, JPEG, SVG)
start button can be replaced by a new image (160x80 pixels/2:1/Width at least 160 px. Allowed image formats: PNG, JPEG, SVG)
Under Colors, you can define the appearance of the buttons that are displayed in the bottom right-hand corner of the scrolly in landscape mode for clicking through.
Click on Save at the top of the menu to save the settings. You can then click on Edit on the right-hand side - this will take you directly to the editor.
Before you start, please make sure that you have set the appropriate font size for your browser. You can also use "command + or -" to adjust the window size. Important: Click in the browser address bar at the top before you enlarge or reduce the window size:
Ideally, the settings window on the left should be so large that you can access all the important parameters without having to scroll (here using the example of selecting an image).
In the next scrolly we explain how the editor is structured.
